Established in 1998, the Hmong Center of Green Bay was founded during a time of transition and hope for many Hmong families making Green Bay their home. The Center began as a response to real needs - helping families overcome language barriers, navigate unfamiliar systems, and find a sense of belonging in a new country. It became a gathering place where community members could access support, share their experiences, and preserve the traditions that define the Hmong identity.

The story of the Hmong people is one of resilience, unity, and perseverance. After years of displacement following the Vietnam War, many Hmong families resettled in Wisconsin, bringing with them a rich cultural heritage and a deep commitment to family and community. Green Bay became one of the places where those values took root. In the face of challenges, the Hmong community came together - building relationships, starting businesses, excelling in education, and creating a future for the next generation.

Over the years, the Hmong Center of Green Bay has reflected that same resilience. We’ve had our ups and downs, but through every challenge, we’ve continued to stand as a pillar of pride, respect, and hope. From its earliest days to today, the Center has been a trusted space for connection — a symbol of what it means to come together and lift one another up.
